Pauldonnelly Posted February 27, 2009 Author Posted February 27, 2009 I'm going doo wallie Tappo Thinking of old forgetten Torch stuff to play on the 24th and Van Mccoy soul improvisations entered my head...now how did it go. Looked through my racks, nah can't find it. Can't really remember how it went if I'm honest but for some bizare reason I sort of thought it might be the inst to "a love you can depend on" does me search on You Tube and hey presto.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CILFncxDWHQ Now this is where it gets really complicated, the first few bars and you know the feeling , nodding head, tapping feet "yeah I remember this now" but hang on it aint the inst to " a love you can depend on" and according to a google it was a 1975 RELEASE...bollocks I heard this at the Torch, or did I? Any way what was the Van McCoy Track that was the inst to Brenda and the Tabulations guys?

Pauldonnelly Posted February 27, 2009 Author Posted February 27, 2009 (edited) I have absolutely nothing to say on this, just thought the rest of the world would welcome a fresh name guilty of inanely bumping this thread. I think we get the message boys, sure you will have a great time, but it is 8 months away, not even IL could keep up this shameful self promotion could he........ thanks for the Bump Jocko , and yes we will have a great time mate. We're leaving the events page alone as you quite rightly pointed out its takin the piss which is why we purposely have been posting record memories in the ALL OUR YESTERDAYS for all to enjoy as believe it or not there are some records which some folk have never heard before Tell you a little story... Yesterday I received a phone call from soul music supporter who is 27 year old Spaniard. His father moved to Spain in the mid 70's to marry a Spanish lady. He told me that his father always used to get HIS soul out when the bar they owned wasn't busy and often told tales about this club he went to as a teenager in Stoke on Trent called the Torch. His Father passed away three years ago and he asked me if he and girlfriend could represent his dad at the Reunion as he knows he would have attended. He also asked if the music links we were posting were indicative of the type of stuff that will be played at the reunion as he had only heard a handful of them, infact he's asked me to source Johnny Jones -Purple haze for him as he loved it, so my dear friend by us having some fun sharing our memories HAS in fact spread the faith just a little bit more.. Ps Jocko, have you got a sound file of Gerry and Paul - The Cat Walk you could post up for us...long time no hear? PD Edited February 27, 2009 by PaulDonnelly
jocko Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Okay my heartstrings are dully tugged.... but I repeat its Friday and I am grumpy and this was an easy target. Believe it or not I think I may actually have it at home, god knows why, if so will post it on Sunday in the 6ts soul thread, just so I do not get tricked into another bump here..........
