Hi Dave

I know of three releases

2 OFFICIAL AND ONE TEST PRESS

ONE ALSO HAD A PIC SLEEVE..THINK IT WAS THE DON HYSON IF MEMORY IS CORRECT

FIRST TWO BOTH ON BARD OUT OF DETROIT

eddy huges (blue and white) BARD and don hysong (red and white) BARD

I had a one off test press on FIRELITE WHICH WAS DETROIT LABEL . IT WAS POSSIBLY A PRESSING PLANT demo of one artist on the FIRELIGHT SIDE

AND BLANK FLIP WITH DON HYSONG ON FLIP AND IT WAS NASHVILLE MATRIX STAMPED

THATS ALL I KNOW OF MATE HOPE THAT HELPS

BEST RICHIE THE GASHER

Think Des Parker had a mis-press with a different artist on the other side if memory serves me correctly

Here is a pic sleeve of Don Hysong on Bard 1013 - not the 45 in question here, but I thought it would be of interest anyway.

Cheers

Richard

Don sounds like a pub singer compared to Eddy Hughes :Dlaugh.gif

Dave f...............

Pub singer!!?? Yeah, that's where he's been! I always compere Don Hysong to Dean Martin...he sounds hammered! Great song though!

Clearly Hysong's version was a demo for Eddie Hughes' commercial release.  I'm sure Hysong's being pressed up on Bard was just an extremely small "vanity" pressing.  I really doubt that more than 100 were pressed.  Back in the day, I remember seeing a reasonable number of The Eddy Hughes record both in Detroit and Chicago, but never saw the Don Hysong.  I really doubt that Bard thought they could get Hysong's played on Pop stations, and could sell it to Pop fans.
