I had a band called the Music Combination and also did studio backup for other bands. one of which was THE PRESENTATIONS and a song called "CALL ON ME" These were done on AMM (American Music Makers) label. What instrument did you play, or where you a singer? The Music Combination....didn't they do backing for 'The Living Color' 'Thank The Lord For Love'???? The singers could not really hit the HIGHS, so my lead singer Joey Guarino dubbed them in,.....ha ha" and, "Also our voices were dubbed in. here is the breakdown. of the UP=SET (Music Combination) my band: Joey Guarino~Lead vocals Larry Patterson~Sax~vocals Denny Gill~Trumpet~vocals Billy Sparks~Bass~vocals Tom Somich~Drums~vocals Frank Donahue~Guitar~vocals Then there were the Presentations 4 black guys If I remember and a few strings were added." Guest Posted February 2, 2009 Share Posted February 2, 2009 Here it is, I'll Post Sound files Later Lou Guarino owned the AMM label little did I know that when we were backing artists at the Gateway Studios in Pittsburgh, Pa. that he was putting these out under various names and labels. Lou also had the group Chad and Jeremy Willow Weep for Me. recorded tons of their material, and when they left him....well he put the records out on several labels. a tid bit...my band the UP-SET/Music Combination was to be the NEW SHONDELLS for Tommy James and release Hanky Panky,....but we could not get out of the contract with AMM fast enough.
