Help!

For the past week or two I've been busy brainwashing my new girlfriend into rare soul, and she's loving it. Carstairs, Linda Jones, Montclairs etc are all new to her and rockin her boat no end.

Problem.

Now SHE's insisting that I spend equal time listening to Celine Dion; insisting on the matter. I'm trying, but it goes against my every natural instinct. I admit she is professional and a sincere singer, but... Celine vs Aretha or Gladys? Come on!

Will anyone admit to liking Celine? If so, why so? Help me out here...

Personally I think she has a good voice altho her material is very M.O.R. for my liking. I know some soul tunes can verge on being M.O.R. but I guess the vocal or something in the arrangement kinda makes it passable to me.

Nah Celine Dion's a bag a shite Col. You've shown her the light - soul music is the best music in the world. Stand yer ground mate and get her to watch BBC2 on Saturday night - Sam Cooke this week, not a lot can stack up against that
