So if it hasn't got the solid matrix stamps then its a boot? I've had my copy since the 70s and always thought it was original, but not according to the above information, have you got any more information about it? or anyone else Thanks in advance Steve

Modernsoulsucks Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 trying hard to make it orig . There's a lot of Constellation stuff that came out on both label designs. Im sure Boba will confirm. Are you sure yours is styrene with no stamps. I can't believe they booted it. ROD
Guest mel brat Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 (edited) Class double sider, the Very EP-I-TO-ME of Quality Underplayed Soul ATB TP I agree. Fond memories of this one from the Cats etc. C.mid-73, but it's suffered since due to it being a "cheap" record for many years. I do seem to recall that it may have been bootlegged, but I'm not certain. If so it would have been done in 1973. (I bought a demo just to be sure!) I love it! Edited January 24, 2009 by mel brat

Guest Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 dont want to seem pedantic however: C66-297 scratched in at 11.00 oclock on "Things" side. C66-298 on "Love" side at 4.00 oclock. LABELS are NOT put on the same angle on each individual press, it depends how they came from the printers, how they were packed at the printers, how they were removed from the box and how they were loaded in the "hopper" you can't hold a label straight and say the matrix is at a specific place, labels are pressed on at any old angle, depending on the position they land on the vinyl at. You have to hold the matrix in a specific place. they read it through the "clockface" way. Mill Evans was counterfeited, as Mel Bratt correctly stated in the early 70s. They were STOCK copies. The different label design used the same masterplates as far as i'm aware but I will check that over and get back to you, if they are different. John
Steve L Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 So was it just the straight constellation design that was booted John?
Guest DAWEEDSMOKA Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 What would an original WD of this go for? Have had one for a while and I can't stand the record....
