You ever had one of these beers?

check out there website.. it's real I have one of there pump clips for my record box..

https://www.norbrew.co.uk

Think these are Colin Stubbs beers (he owns a brewery in Runcorn)

Col is a Winsford lad who has been on the scene for donkeys years but doesn't get out as much just lately(since he bought the brewery actually... thumbsup.gif )

He'll probably be at the Big Lock in Middlewich tonight, and has had his beers on the pumps at Middlewich Legion, where they also have soul nights.

Yeh he's name is Colin..

I emailed him to see if I could buy some of the pump clips direct as I bought one on ebay... thought they would look good on me Playbox..

Imagine owning a brewary I wouldn't get out that much either. thumbsup.gif

Not sure - met up with Colin Stubbs at Big Lock last night, and told him his beers were being discussed on Soul Source.

Email him from his website.....he may well get some sorted.

Tried to convince him to name one 'Down an out' last night as George Freeman was being spun, he seemed quite impressed with the idea, but was slightly pickled at the time.... :D

Have not tasted it myself but I mentioned it to one of the "tickers" (camra members) in my local at the weekend and he said he had tried it at the cambridge beer festival last year.

Trying to persuade our local landlord to get some in for our next bank holiday sunday "Meeting of Minds" soul evening. He usually has at least 17 different ales in so I told him one more wouldn't hurt.

Might have tasted one at Middlewich Legion some time ago...but was too pickled to remember.... :D

Col is a great lad, and if he is as passionate about his beer making as his record collection, then it will surely be a mighty fine tipple... :)

Or you might just have picked an empty glass up :P   :shades:

...mind you, I have heard you are partial to the odd whisky Dave.

Believe it helps to get rid of any odd tastes out of your mouth, especially after long car journeys.... :D

No it's a revolutionary way to pull a proper pint of real ale :shades::D

I believe so - as it's started about a Soulie who owns a brewery, and make beers with names like Northern Dancer etc.

Their is also a strong link between soul music and beer, with Mr Rimmer being the guvnor and myself being the apprentice..... :D:D

...however, as I posted the whiskey/taste comment earlier, I would like to point out that I certainly do not wish to learn all the 'tricks' of the trade from Mr Rimmer, and would therefore prefer not to drink at all if certain 'tricks' need performing..... :shades:

Back on topic - Col Stubbs beers are a great idea that should grace the bar of all soul venues (and no, I'm not on commission), and bottled versions would be even better.
