Not Original maybe worth getting in touch with them. Rectangle Decca = 2nd issue Oval decca = 1st link I'm not sure thats right Paul, I think the first issue is box logo as well - BUT - the demo's are definitely the old style Decca logo. To tell the difference between the first and the second you'd have to look for the inverted matrix number above the catalogue number, that is, if it's upside down, it's from 67, if it's the right way up, it's from 76. This also applies to Danny Williams - Who's little girl are you, and of course David Bowie - The laughing gnome
Guest HiTtHeBoNgO Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 i think its a myth that it came out unboxed , i dont know any uk collectors who have seen it , as pete said its the inverted matrix and also the first issue is a darker blue....so first issue near mint £35..all in with postage
Corbett80 Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 (edited) I've got a box logo issue with upside down matrix numbers in very dark blue......I asked Manship about it and he claimed they began to change the logo in '67 the year it was released explaining how you get both label versions. I saw a curved logo copy for £150 (I think) in Prestatyn. Can't remember if it was a demo or not though!!!!! Edited May 13, 2005 by mulf

That's handy though as now I know I've got an original if boxed logo upside etc is a good un (yippee), always thought it was a reissue Edited May 13, 2005 by richard
Pete S Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 I still say there's no old style logo on this and if anyone's going to know it's Mick Smith, and he reckons there isn't one either.
Godzilla Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 I still say there's no old style logo on this and if anyone's going to know it's Mick Smith, and he reckons there isn't one either. link I don't think there's a curved logo issue either. And there's another way of telling. If you look at the edges of the push out centre you can see that the paper on the labels of the reissues is actually pink on the underside. Originals are black (or maybe really dark blue). Works for Mickey Moonshine too, so maybe it was something to do with the paper Decca was using at the time of those second issues. Godz
mischief Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 Now i've got to see what mine is when I can find it.
Corbett80 Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 Pete> Could've sworn I saw one......it was the guy selling records right next to Pat Brady......don't know his name..... I must be mistaken if no one else has seen one
