Tabs Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Followed an ebay auction tonight and was surprised what it went for, - approx £50. Looking on popsike that might have been cheap but they were all demo's. What price does a black MGM issue go for? Thamks

Premium Stuff Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 (edited) Manship lists the black issue at £20 and the yellow promo at £100. You can get a M- issue for a tenner. However, the promo is much harder and will go for 75, 80 or even 100 quid. 50 quid is a good price IMO. One of the best Detroit Northern Soul dancers ever Cheers Richard Edited January 11, 2009 by Premium Stuff

Guest Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Reminds me of my youth! Oldie but (very) goodie imho. Spyder is on Facebook by the way and loads of people on here have added him as a 'friend' .... whether they all actually know him is another matter!

Thamks not pointing out the obvious but popsike dosent usually list anything that sells for less than $30 and great 2 sider as it is ICMIA would never get to that amount on the bay on a black issue unless insanity prevailed dave
Steve L Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Not sure if tabs is on about the same one but A45heaven just had one go through for £46 (issue) This coming after the recent Edwin Starr - I have faith(£71), Barrie must be chuckling to himself a bit. Just watched a mint Edwin go for £6 on US ebay and as has been said you can easily get a Spyder Turner for a tenner.
Pat Wallace Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Bought this at the Torch in 1972 for 50p when no one wanted it. Mind you that was a lot o money then. God I sound like the old fart I am . Great tune and one I like to hear at oldies nights.
Tabs Posted January 11, 2009 Author Posted January 11, 2009 In one. Saw this and another issue sold a few months ago for roughly the same price. Looked on popsike and all were demos going for that or more. Just thought I had missed something as the issues were cheap as chips. Think I paid £1 for mine in Casino. Goes to prove quality doesn't need to be expensive. Thamks Hi Tabs, got mine about 5 years ago just as we started banbury soul club up, it was a fiver and a minter, I can't believe its goes for that amount, more money than sense IMO, I would think no more than £20 and thats being generous ATB Steve

Cheers, Chris Belting 70's dancer ain't it Chris Getting spins at all 70's/crossover venues at the moment! I first heard Andy Whitmore play this at Thorne in the 80's but boy does it sound so good now!!!! We all thought it was LP only back then too???? I normally sell the 45 when it comes up at £30 but I think it will go higher as demand builds on it cos it's a tough little bugger to find! Cheers Steve
