Hi,

I can`t found any informations about the two following records...so maybe someone will help me on Soul Source!

1.) JB And The I.N.I.T.I.A.L.S. - That`s The Girl I Onced Love (Burdland)

A really nice slow record with an fuzzy organ in the background and a probably white artist. Reminds me to the two Five Chances/Chances records on Finch.... The label is from Jefferson City if that helps?!?

2.) Grazina - Stay Awhile/Let Me Go Lover (Give-A-Disc U.K.)

Strange item: A nice girlie doublesider from 1964 in Chollie Maye - You Will Never Get Away poppish style. It`s no real vinyl. More like a flexi disc (but not like the thin flexis from the 80`s). Maybe Give-A-Disc is something like a `sing your song and go out of the shop` record label, like Lorraine Silvas - Lost Summer Love one....I don`t know!

I've seen a few of those Give A Disc records, I think one has "The Leroys", surprisingly they are quite common, but I'm afraid I don't know anything about their history.

Thanks Pete...but I hope some of the other scene-veterans knows a little bit more (who is Grazina...she has a great voice...must come from England...but maybe totally unknown!?!?, where is the label from?!?!?).

Ah, as you'll see from the picture below, it was a magazine containing a free flexi disc - must have only run to single figures I reckon

Thanks again Pete...it looks really interesting. The label of my Grazina record looks totally different. It`s oxblood red with a gold lettering/different type writing an less infos then on the pictured flexi. Seems the editors of the magazine changed a little bit of the look of their records from 64 until 65. Do you have the pictured issue at home or is it out of the millions of pics from the internet (do you have a link?)?

If you right click the picture then go to properties, it'll show you the web address

Hi Pete,

The Give-A-Disc record label was owned by Robert Stigwood (note the Reaction logo on the label!). The records, complete with the magazine, will sell for around £12 - £15, but only about £4 on their own.

One or two of the artists were ex-Joe Meek acts (well, Stigwood nicked a few acts from Meek). Grazina (real name Grazina Frame) also recorded three singles on HMV under Stigwood's production; one of these appearing to be a cover version of "Be My Baby". She also acted alongside Joe Brown in "What A Crazy World".

I've only got one of the Give-A-Discs; "All My Loving" by Sir Hubert Pattison. Ignore the artist's name, it's actually quite a good Beatles' cover version!
