soul respect im talking about ian levine, when he came on here a few months ago, i thought hello the shit is gonna hit the fan, but i was wrong, i have learnt so much info about the music and etc in the last few months i've been on here in the last few years, yet some of u soulies r putting him down, he has been probably playing 45s since some of lot have been born, allright the blokes controversial, so what, thats what we need, this is a polite posting show respect i believe he'll do likewise.

Hi Billy,

I also agree with you. Its a shame it ends up with a spat.

Ian is very proud and protective of his productions and you cannot blame him for that.

I am only interested in the music and the artists, and its great to hear new stuff from any era, or new to me anyway wether I really like it or not.

Why can't everybody just get along...

I agree in some respects Billy.

If it was just about the music, and the recallling of some very interesting moments/memories, then the threads would be great. But they arent. They arent really about Northern Soul particularly, they are about Ian, and Ian's perception, of Northern Soul. Thats what I have a problem with.

I have the utmost respect for some of the tunes Ian turned up 30 plus years ago, and even enjoy some of his productions.

I mostly agree with you Billy, but Ian has to show respect for others views, not just disagree because they don't suit. Humility is an attractive quality.............
