I just heard from Maxine Brown that her original guitarist died on Monday morning. He was still gigging and very active on the New York black music scene.Not Sam "The Man" Taylor apparently!

RIP. Yes I saw the post with the Sam "The Man" Taylor heading & thought "he was still alive". Then read it & thought "wow, when did he start using that nickname". In any case, sad news & definitely not the famed jazz/R&B/pop saxman.
