Pete S Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 I have had 3 of these and all have jumped on Deadbeats track, is this similar with all copies? Definitely. I've got one now that does it.
Itsthebeat Posted January 5, 2009 Author Posted January 5, 2009 How many copies of this LP were pressed? What does the LP sell for?
Pete S Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 How many copies of this LP were pressed? What does the LP sell for? Must have been 2 or 300 I'd have thought. You have to be careful though because in about 1988 it was reissued, they used the same sleeves but the record inside was completely different (included Bobby Hebb - You want to change me, can't remember any more). Value wise, don't see it for sale nowadays, must be 25-30 quid I'd have thought.

BUT never heard the re-pressing story Pete? I don't think I've ever had or seen one either? Cheers Steve

Obviously a UK boot with the title coming from the WVON albums [Good guys?] that were legit[?] US releases. What do you know about the latter,Bob. Think I might have seen two different but not sure now as a long time ago. ROD

Think I might have seen two different but not sure now as a long time ago. ROD there were two good guys albums (and a WNOV, the milwaukee station had a similar album) that you used to see around a lot, they were actually put out by the station and compilations of popular records. Definitely didn't look like the tracklist above! I think the most 'northern' record on them was linda jones hypnotized, they even had lots of jazz like pearl bailey on them.

I have one that i will let go, make me a reasonable offer, some great tunes from the time on there but its pretty basic.

I understand why someone would bootleg the first one with all the latest (at the time) mega rare Northern & early Modern monsters (which again at the time were really hard to find!) from circa 1980/1 BUT i cannot understand the list above? Very interesting though! Cheers Steve
Itsthebeat Posted January 6, 2009 Author Posted January 6, 2009 I bought a copy of the ALL NITE LONG-WVON F.M.CHICAGO LP from a local collector yesterday. The recording on all tracks are really clear. A great LP worth thousands of pounds as 45s. All tracks played with no trouble except for the first by the Deadbeats. This track skipped/jumped many times when playing. The arm on the turntable was set to 2 grammes. I reduced the weight to 1.5 grammes and the Deadbeats track played perfectly time after time. This LP is well worth £20!
davidwapples Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 i paid 50 for mine on ebay but finding it was a pressing / boot i sold it on for 45 a couple of years ago , just happy to get most of my money back it did jump on the deadbeat track
