Benji Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 MURIEL DAY - NINE TIMES OUT OF TEN - GERMAN PAGE ONE (VG, plays fine with some crackle) OFFERS This german release seems to be so rare I couldn't find any information about it on the net. I sure ain't trying to make a fortune with it but as mentioned in other thread, I just don't know what value I'd put on it? £5, £10, £100???? You tell me, any nice offer considered Paypal prefered, Postage extra (regular £3, registered £5) Can provide soundfile if requested. If interested, please PM me.
Benji Posted January 6, 2009 Author Posted January 6, 2009 Here's a sound clip taken from the actual record. Quality improves further on in the song. As expected demand for this 'beauty' is rather slim to none so I'll put it on Ebay soon, I'm sure they know their Northern Soul Seriously, best offer by tomorrow (wednesday) night wins it. MurielDay.mp3

whereismy record Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 (edited) There was some *hit played on the soul scene in the early days, how did they not find/play the stuff that has been found and played now!. Saying that bit if you played it a some big commercial oldies night it would fill the floor but who would take the risk. Just listened to this on Manships and it is scary to think that if Sesame Street had been around that would have been played also as they sound the same at the start and musical break. None is probably spot on! Edited January 6, 2009 by whereismy record
Guest Russ Smith Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 None is probably spot on! It would probably go on the 'bay.. But here .. unlikely !
Guest Brian Ellis Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 It would probably go on the 'bay.. But here .. unlikely ! Cos most on here are only interested in buying soul records .
good angel Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 It would make a good clay pigeon target, PULL Kev
Ezzie Brown Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 a mate at my rugby club once told me he was into northern and THIS was his favourite track. ........!! he a bloody good rugby player tho ez
Dave Pinch Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 but collecting soul records and collecting northern soul records are two different kettles of fish a lot of folk on here seem to get easily confused by the issue dave
Benji Posted January 7, 2009 Author Posted January 7, 2009 None is probably spot on! Paul, well what can I say. You're almost right Have one offer now but not on SS, it's from a local friend who collects 60s Pop dancer, which Muriel Day perfectly fits in. As offer is rather low I'll probably put it on Ebay anyway. What amazes me, this thread got 300+ views. Is this some sort of voyeurism, like you 'have' to stop and watch what happened right after that heavy traffic accident The number of offers I got from SS members (=zilch) sort of restored my faith, that not everyone is obsessed with rarity and quality is still a major factor
