Soulsider Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Please - Can anyone tell me what I would expect to get for Linda Jones - Just Can't Live My Life on UK Warner Brothers? Popsike has prices over the past 3 or 4 years between £20 and £60 ish. The scan is my copy and is at least VG+. I can't remember the last time I heard it played out either so I have no idea of demand. The absolutley superb My Heart Needs A Break seems to dominate Thanks for any help and maybe I have answered my own question!

Alamo Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Please - Can anyone tell me what I would expect to get for Linda Jones - Just Can't Live My Life on UK Warner Brothers? Not an uncommon record on British WB actually. Average price is around the £30 mark. They do surface on a regular basis and if you are eBaying it, I would check the search engine first to see if there are any others for sale. Always best not to list with other competing records of the same title. Always goes down well in Norwich when played. I note youve been offered £30 on here. Fair price IMO. regards - Al
Dave Morris Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Sold mine on the bay last year for £28.Was told that was about right price.Regret it now.Was hoping to pick up a US copy but no luck yet.
Dave Moore Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Dave, Are you aware that your avatar is the sponsor of the illustrious Lords of Turf Moor? I always suspected you were secretly longing to be a Claret. We welcome you over from the darkside.
Kev Moore Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Dave this is a little off topic but....where on earth can you buy Hollands pies in the South???? Any suggestions would make a pie less Northerner have a very very good 2009. Regards Kev

Some branches of Iceland sell 'em as do a few branches of Macro. I used to have to drive to Reading for 'em. Bit of a trek but worth every mile.

Cheers Dave I'll recheck the local Iceland but I'm sure I'd have spied em by now. Also I think there's a Macro nr North Greenwich. Should rename this thread Just Can't Live My Life (WITHOUT HOLLANDS PIES) yum yum yum! C'mon You CLARETS! Kev
Guest Bearsy Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 I recently sold a US demo copy for just over £100 in EX condition and certainly not worth more than £30 on the uk release as they do come about quite often, great tune though
Guest mel brat Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 I recently sold a US demo copy for just over £100 in EX condition and certainly not worth more than £30 on the uk release as they do come about quite often, great tune though I'm getting confused. Was this a demo of a Hollands PIE, a Pye copy of some record or other, or a Dutch import copy of Linda Jones....

Thats it - The lunatics have definately taken over the asylum One of the greatest female singers of all time. and one of the gretest soul records of all time! Could you imagine if "I just cant" was abig hit in uk Linda Jones on Top of the pops what a sight that would have been. My heart needs abreak is not bad either but I cant stop loving my baby is awesome in my opinion and should be played out more these days. Now thats an oldie I never tire of.

Played the Loma album only last night - truly fantastic. I have made my own complete LOMA/WarnerBros CD compilation but it is about time it was done as a proper release - extending the album with the none album singles (and maybe unissued tracks?) . The Tony Rounce/Sequel stuff (Turbo Recordings) aside, she has been poorly represented n CD. Mike
