i didn't have any actual info other than my friend sourced this and had copies a long time ago, he would have more real info though, i will try to ask him.

I picked up something like 8-10 copies of this from the Jazz Record Mart in Chicago back around '99 or so. It's a Chicago record, probably some still around somewhere, but I sold all copies that I had.

Yes ...nice record...gave it some play when The Holgate in York and Manhatten in Harogate were on the go..as you say ...tough record but don't think it's overly expensive as it's not that well known...yet

which Sandra Stephens cover up?

Been played off & on for a while now, Dave Abbott has the same disc covered up as Voices Inc - Thinking Again........not sure about rareity etc, but shit does it move, melikeeeeeeeee lots & deserves to be be heard more widely, Mr Abbott certainly raised the roof at a few venues at the end of last year with this belter.

Happy New Year Chalkmeister

The Bobby Hebb dropped through my letterbox today. (£2 - wrongly listed and mis-spelt  )

and...Presentations - Call On Me.

Haven't heard either played out in my neck of the woods, but will be soon.

-Kev.

Love me, had a surge of interest back in the early nineties....A lovely tune correctly pointed out however!!

Not a dancer , but if you dig the slower end of Crossover then David Morris " Come watch my train go by " [Jamie ] is unbeatable as a great Philly Soul record , bit like Tom Clay " What the world needs now " pace wise , a Funk tip that could crossover in the current climate is Winfield Parker " Shake that thing " [Arctic ], another modernish dancer that's doing it for me at the mo' is Marvin Sims " Love is on the way " [Rivertown ] .Love the Grover Mitchell " I gotta keep movin ' " tipped a couple of pages back , think I'll give that a spin at Banbury tonight .Great thread very educational !! Best wishes ,Eddie

Yeah - played it at The Shack and Pontins. In fact played it 3 times over the 2 days at Pontins due to requests. Seems to be a lot of interest in this one.

Ok how about these:

Roy Roberts on Sugar, had plays but due to explode shortly.

Again, Superlatives c/up just needs a wider audience to really gooooooooooooooooooooo

Phil Wainwrights Bob Collins & the Mighty Ryders- Emotion C/up.......again, needs a wider audience, now I have secured a copy, hopefully I can help too !!!!!

Also from Phil & Johnny Beggs Magenta - Running Back to You

Another left fielder from Johnny, Evans Pyramid, not every ones cuppa cocoa, but gets right under ya skin !!!!.

A cheapie that seems to be catching peoples attention when I spin it is PJ Smith - Hold On To It...........probably had plays over the years, but never exploded like it deserves imo.

And is this the year for Wes Black - I Feel Good.........I wish it was, but alas, maybe still too modern for the moment to go mainstream monster, altho' it stomps like a mutha !!!.

Have a hoofin' 2009 & see ya around the bizarres...........
