Agent45 Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 i didn't have any actual info other than my friend sourced this and had copies a long time ago, he would have more real info though, i will try to ask him. I picked up something like 8-10 copies of this from the Jazz Record Mart in Chicago back around '99 or so. It's a Chicago record, probably some still around somewhere, but I sold all copies that I had.

Eddie Hubbard Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Not a dancer , but if you dig the slower end of Crossover then David Morris " Come watch my train go by " [Jamie ] is unbeatable as a great Philly Soul record , bit like Tom Clay " What the world needs now " pace wise , a Funk tip that could crossover in the current climate is Winfield Parker " Shake that thing " [Arctic ], another modernish dancer that's doing it for me at the mo' is Marvin Sims " Love is on the way " [Rivertown ] .Love the Grover Mitchell " I gotta keep movin ' " tipped a couple of pages back , think I'll give that a spin at Banbury tonight .Great thread very educational !! Best wishes ,Eddie
Stevie Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Yea played Ted Jarrett last night at Sure Shot, went down really well and had a couple of enquiries about what it was, why have you got one ? Russ Vickers Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Ok how about these: Roy Roberts on Sugar, had plays but due to explode shortly. Again, Superlatives c/up just needs a wider audience to really gooooooooooooooooooooo Phil Wainwrights Bob Collins & the Mighty Ryders- Emotion C/up.......again, needs a wider audience, now I have secured a copy, hopefully I can help too !!!!! Also from Phil & Johnny Beggs Magenta - Running Back to You Another left fielder from Johnny, Evans Pyramid, not every ones cuppa cocoa, but gets right under ya skin !!!!. A cheapie that seems to be catching peoples attention when I spin it is PJ Smith - Hold On To It...........probably had plays over the years, but never exploded like it deserves imo. And is this the year for Wes Black - I Feel Good.........I wish it was, but alas, maybe still too modern for the moment to go mainstream monster, altho' it stomps like a mutha !!!.
