Guest bazrico Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 I know it's christmas and i must be a sad fooker, as always when you get a group of soulies together the conversation turned too how do promoters persuade Dj's to mix thier spot with oldies, newies, modern this came up at our party last night Why not have a juke box on stage with top 500 and punters just played what they want. Another ideal the promoter makes a CD (mp3 format) of what he/she thinks the punters will like and play that thru the sound system. The one which made one or two laugh was the promoter gave the Dj's the records to play at the time of thier spot. your thoughts would be welcome
Guest bazrico Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 (edited) I was at Glastonbury last year and the best thing there was the SILENT DISCO. Everyone was given a set of headphones with 2 channels on entry. Techno stuff on one channel conventional pop/disco on the other. 1 dance floor, 2 DJ's, 2 sets of people dancing to 2 genres It was great fun to do & funnier to stand at the side, switch the headphones off, and watch. I thought at the time it would be great to do R'n'b/oldie channel & a crossover/modern channel. Shit I must be sadder than you Barry, but what do you do after you've opened your pressies and the wife has kicked you out the way. John off down to our local woolies to get 100 head phones lol Edited December 25, 2008 by bazrico
Guest WPaulVanDyk Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 do we mean the top 500 now or from the first book since the first book at least 200 tracks have been ommited in the new one for new entries i think there is more then 500 songs that are too popular after all Jackie Wilson's got a good few (i know some songs which are class he did and never played out)
