Premium Stuff Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 (edited) Hi all Anyone got any good ideas, tips, advice please on home contents insurance related to record collections? If there are any good policies around, or tips on scope of cover, that would be great know Just out of interest, I made a claim on an old insurance policy a few years ago when I was burgled. They got into my locked record boxes and caused a bit of havoc. The insurer paid out for stolen and damaged items, including several individual 45s that had been damaged or had their condition reduced (e.g. by scuffing). My policy paid out for the full replacement cost based on values in the current edition of Manship's Price Guide The police also caught the guy who did it - a druggie who had just kicked the front bay window in Thanks Richard Edited December 24, 2008 by Premium Stuff

The way I see it 'any' burglar would be curious as to the contents, hence the 'havoc', whereas most burglars would have no interest in old records, unless that's the reason they are there, in which case they would just take the boxes, I suppose as they were locked you were lucky they didn't take em just out of curiosity, Most burglars would be 'interested' in anything with a lock on,
