Guest Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Well as someone said on here not long ago zavvi has folded that leaves just HMV as the only high street retailer and they appear to be shoving there meagre amount of CD's to the back of their stores. Where will it end Regards ian
Gene-r Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 (edited) Sad news about Zavvi - it was one of only two places (the other being HMV itself) that I could rely on for current 7" vinyl releases. Edited December 24, 2008 by Gene-R
Steve G Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 No surprises there. Shops sellijg DVDs and CDs etc have been desimated by internet sales.

If my info is correct, Zavvi used Woolies distribution arm and now that Woolies has gone down the plug, Zavvi are stuffed.....stone, ripples etc. I worked for HMV in Oxford St in '77 when it was THE only megastore on the strip.....and jolly fine it was too. But we did stock everything back then - not like now....drone, drone, when I was a whippersnapper etc

ZapatootheTiger Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 My local Zavvis (Woking and Walton-on-Thames) have been utter crap when it comes to JA music and not much better with Soul stuff. I've heard from others in other parts of England over at Trojan that their local branches have been a bit better (on the Reggae front) I won't miss it, I'm always successfully disappointed whenever I go in.
