Julianb Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Had a copy for years can't understand why I got rid of it! But why do you want it on a reissue when the US and UK originals are not very expensive?
Liljimmycrank Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Anyone know how much the Barbara Lynn goes for these days? Great tune, and one on my wants list too! (one for the new year though me thinks)
Guest Nik Mak Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 But why do you want it on a reissue when the US and UK originals are not very expensive? Hi Julian. Don't think I said what I want it on? I assumed Bulldog was the uk original didn't realise it was a re-issue? I would like it on US original if possible so if anyone has one get in touch. Thanks for pointing that out. atb....

Ember 312 is the original UK release ( had 10 copies off Barry Kingston of Spark records for 50p apiece back in the heyday!) US original is on GM714 - it's been booted on styrene. Original is moulded over vinyl RAJ in deadwax. Julian

Might move it up the list though Mr Floods is a top tune too, although have just got an orig recently on GM so it'll be staying firmly in the box im afraid. Thx for price info mate.

Dennyj Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 I may be wrong but I think the one on bulldog sells for more than the ember one?????? Be careful, there are two cuts of this. The one that is/was played at most NS clubs is the cut that is on Bulldog. I haven't heard the Ember release, but I suspect it's the other, more "jazzy" cut - maybe somebody can confirm ? This may explain why the Bulldog release is more sought after. The US release on GM is the "jazzy" cut. I know a few people who've been disappointed, thinking they've picked up a US original, only to find it doesn't sound right ! Cheers, Denny

Julianb Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Whoops, now you got me worried! Ember release was 1971 and was the version played at the Torch etc and is the one I have heard played recently. Bulldog release came out in 1975. Julian
