Tiggerwoods Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 THE MOST ANNOYING Expression OF 2008 "Only one more sleep..." Or the most overused expression for 2008 ''IMHO''. We're all entitled to an opinion ....why does it have to be humble all the time!
Guest Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Great thread. Nice one everybody. Just having a bloody awful day and this has at least cheered me up a little. Enjoy people!. Jayne.x

Guest in town Mikey Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 (edited) Great post Jaco. Also like to add the stayed up too many nights award to Dursley's own Dave Thorley, who couldnt remember when Stafford started and finished. And my fave thread (as stated before) was the one where guys posted their record collecting stories from the states. And the Oldies award should go to the Leicester Oddfellows one, reactivated by a guy who joined, saw the thread and called out for a few mates to remininsce. I didnt know any of them, but enjoyed their catch up as much as if I had. It reminds me why Mike is running the best site on the web, and even when people are moaning about this that or the oldies/newies debates, Soul Source is still head and shoulders the most clicked on favourite in my house. Harry Crosby Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 The best thing for me thru 2008 was finding my old mate niel allen [nogger] who i hadn`t seen for nearly 30yrs, we now keep in touch most days, so paul donnellys thread about niel was one of my faves
ChrisOD1964 Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Not forgetting the Soul of Jamaica threads some brill postings in there musically and for knowledge and info. chris

Guest Dave Turner Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 The best thing for me thru 2008 was finding my old mate niel allen [nogger] who i hadn`t seen for nearly 30yrs, we now keep in touch most days, so paul donnellys thread about niel was one of my faves Harry, very much agree with you. PD's thread re "nogger" was great in that it very much epitomised the great friendships that the Northern scene has kindled over the years. https://www.soul-source.co.uk/Neil-no...len-t84104.html Ian Dewhurst's thread re great record finds was also mouth watering reading. https://www.soul-source.co.uk/Greates...ime-t68839.html For very different reasons these two threads come out level pegging for me. Thoroughly enjoyed them both.
Guest NS101 Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Best thread on here in 08 has to be the Levine one. No question about that, got me interested in this site. But i'd also like to add the thread about the time-wasters in the WANTS part of this site where the main suggestion was that for the most part those who had posted "wants" often never responded and the consensus of opinion was that "All wants should be priced". I thought that was a good idea as did most of the replies but the rulers of this site have ignored the request, not responded to it and done nothing to change things which in my opinion would have been for the better. A bit like ebay in that respect as they too dont listen to their clients and my apologies for saying that. I'm sorry if site owners did reply somewhere, but i never saw anything except to see that WANTED items still continue to be unpriced and time wasters, or folk wanting recs for nothing, continue asking for stuff and probably not responding when things are offered.
