Guest gordon russell Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 I have to say inwardly I groan, but it's only five minutes out of a whole night at the end of the day. Have to say though, I can't remember the last time I heard these two records out. Means I must be going to the right venues thats not for the want of asking for em
Rednose Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 You must be Joan If you live round here, these two records are so typical of the element of the scene who just want to go out and hear/dance to the same familiar tunes that they heard last week, month , year........ad infinitum Another in the same bracket is Home Is Where The Heart Is, plus alot more that I cant be bothered to list. Personally I'd rather boil my bollocks in treacle than listen to this kind of stuff i live round here not heard these tunes played in months.

Why would you want to do that? Horses for courses I suppose.

Steve L Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 ok mate fair comment just saying not heard the mentioned records played out in ages . i think that was the point of the thread The point of the thread is that if these records (or similar) are played at a venue, are you happy to listen to them or do you feel like going home. Personally I'm in the latter camp, not because of the my opinion of the records in question ( if people like them thats fine with me ) but because of the fact that they have been continually rammed down your throat over a long period of time at certain venues. I just cant stand listening to the same records over and over when there are 1000's that never get aired, and as someone pointed out on the J20 thread a large % of people just wont even give stuff they dont know a try. I've seen a group of people who you know walk out of a venue twice this year after 1) 30 minutes of walking in and 2) after 20 minutes of a dj starting his spot. Anyway thats just my opinion and spouting it on here wont change anything, each to their own and never the twain shall meet. Unfortunately Off to dip my nether regions in some dark liquid
