Jerry Hipkiss Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Don't have the book, but when you say grainy, you mean the label, less gloss to label From memory Dave, yes, the feel of the label gives it away.
Guest Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Don't have the book, but when you say grainy, you mean the label, less gloss to label Dave, the new Price Guide 5 has a scan of the counterfeit demo & the original JW in full colour. It's time to forget the Bootleg Guide 3, it's ten years old now and carries perhaps a 1/10th of the bootleg info PG5 does. The New guide carries over 1150 full colour label scans and exact deadwax descriptions included for you to ID stuff like this. John

Gene-r Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 From memory, here are the main features that give the Jeanette Williams boots away: - the label is a rough matt finish - the vinyl is thin, maybe quite bendy - all boots are apparently pressed off centre

John Sorry but my PG5 doesn't give any deadwax descriptions for this particular record.Just refers you to 2 thumbnail scans. (but it is good though) Edited December 16, 2008 by John A
Guest mel brat Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 (edited) Basically, the bootleg looks different to anything else you've seen on the Backbeat label! (I much prefer "Something's Got A Hold On Me" anyway. Never liked "...Sudden" much myself) Edited December 16, 2008 by mel brat
Simon T Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Don't have the book, but when you say grainy, you mean the label, less gloss to label The label is glossy, but the quality of the red print is grainy Boot scan:
