Guest Byrney Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 Got up a bit blurry eyed this morning, Mrs Byrne had the TV on watching the above, they had an actor as guest (sorry I'm crap with celebs names) who was talking about a new film he's in - a remake of Function at the Junction. Bizarre as they all (presenter, chef fellah and actor) started talking about Northern - including a bit later on guest Sean Lock (who is funny) saying that he was actually into Northern. Think they said Mark Ronson was involved with the film soundtrack Anyone else see it who wasn't half asleep and nursing a hangover?
sepia Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 a wee bit to early for me. did know sean lock liked northern tho. hes slipped it in on a few shows hes been on.
Guest Chris Waterman Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 Hi Byrney The actor was Matt De Angelo ex Eastenders, he said he was being taught to dance by Paul Sadot,
Guest andrew bin Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 i caught the last bit, Function at the Junction Set in 1975, Function at the Junction tells the story of a dance competition being held at a Northern Soul nightclub in a run down seaside town. The central character Danny Law is not only an amazing dancer but also a skilled cat burglar. So when he is caught by the police, Danny is given an ultimatum - 'Go undercover and collect evidence of the huge drug dealing operation being run by corrupt club manager Richie Lance...Or go down!' This unleashes a chain of events, which brings Danny both within an inch of losing his life and a chance to win the dance competition. 'Enter the Dragon' meets 'Saturday Night Fever' in this wild journey to the centre of the UK's underground Funk and Soul dance clubs of the 1970's. In style the film will exists in its own universe where Kung Fu fight sequences, Soul and Funk music collide on the dance floor of the Junction nightclub. Cast attached includes Rhys Ifans, Matt Di Angelo and Paul Kaye. Attached musicians include Mark Ronson. https://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=...01989&hl=en

Steve S 60 Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 On this morning's show, Simon Rimmer just quoted "Turning My Heartbeat Up" as a record he'd class as a floor filler if he was DJ'ing.
Guest Matt Male Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 (edited) lol, I noticed I already commented on this thread... seven years ago! Edited May 31, 2015 by Matt Male
