Thanks to Mike E for letting me repost this topic. Perhaps all you kind hearted soulies could do something along the lines of Gil Blanding :)

Here's the email that Mike received from Art Robles's son:

A good argument for playlists is this E Mail I have received from A guy in the States. See thread on the MAJESTICS. However, i have limited the amount and when I put them onto my web$site, etc.

I noticed you guys play this song and have it on a few play lists. The Majestics was my Dad''s band, Art Robles who also wrote and sang the song. It is amazing to me that it is being played today in places all the way over in England. I just wanted to say hello adn hope you continue playing his song whic h he wrote about my Mom. If you have any video o fmy Dad''s song being played in a venue I woudl love to be able to see it on line somehow. Perhaps on YouTube or some other site. Please let me know if there is something out there like this as the rest of my family woudl love to see it too I am sure.

I think we'd need an email address from Mike to contact Russ Robles but let's show him our appreciation - anecdotes, video clips....I know you can do it :) Jo x

I think " i love her so much" was used as a soundtrack to the American mod film "young birds fly". He might be interested in it.

I dont know how to upload from youtube, anyone.

Usually, there's an 'embedded' code at the bottom of each clip. I'm thinking that if you put that into the links function in a post, it should either bring up the You Tube thingy or a link....let's see if this works

">You Tube 'Young Birds Fly'

Sorry I can't get the You Tube thing to appear lol. Well spotted Garv!

Nice one jo

Just a thought.

Not sure but did hear that Dave Evison first broke this on the scene, maybe someone could give a bit of background to the history of this record on the scene[ & the scene in general] as i`m sure it would make interesting reading for the family.

Oh BTW

thanks for the book [ ready, steady,go!]. my only problem now is to explain why i have a kinky name on my credit card statement :lol:laugh.gif

Good idea re: Dave Evison - it would be excellent to pinpoint the year that the Majestics first got blasted out of UK speakers

LOL - it's a long story and I'll tell you about it one day.... :D Glad you like the book  xx
