I assumed he was the said ebay seller and was disgruntled because he didnt make anything on his sale, he informs me he is not His words to me are as follows.. "To buy something with the express purpose of selling it at a much increased price you might call it allocation, I call it "bang out of order" Im really sorry but am i missing something here??? Not that i need to justify myself but for what its worth here goes, I spend countless hours scouring ebay, sales lists, websites, and quite often find ,what i consider bargains ,so i buy em ,purely and simply to sell on ,for PROFIT in order to get the records i cant normally afford! Am i the only person on here who uses this practice ??
Jumpinjoan Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 I'd call his post out of order Nev. Jeez, what's with some people.

What a k=*b i prefer to buy them off ebay at over inflated prices and then sell them for next to nothing so as to bankrupt myself very quickly easy peasy Paul
Ernie Andrews Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Hi Nev - have good 3 weeks in Oz. We have all done it Bought records and sold them on for a profit. & sold them for a loss-The govt are not interested in the latter! only the former. The only problem I see is a prick like this reporting people to the tax man as making a profit could be seen as Unearned income and therefore tax is liable. (Someones girlfreind did this to get back at the bloke) Wonder what everyone thinks of this! Selling anything else quick Nev?

BAZ A Nothing wrong with buying, selling or collecting like that in my opinion.Surely the more knowledge and experience you accumilate, the better you are at it.If you are unsure put a high reserve on it.

Guest Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Hi Nev, Only just seen this thread...... . Pretty much every collector I know will try to pick up bits cheap so that you can sell them on for a bit of profit.....all helps fund the collecting addiction . It's accepted practise, isn't it??? You use your knowledge and spend your time hunting down bargains then sell/trade on to get something crossed off the wants list and chances are the person you buy your want from is selling it at more than they paid for it etc etc etc.....thats how the whole collecting scene works! If selling things on to make a profit is considered bad practise....then I must be satan himself . Anyhow, have a great holiday...was great to meet you earlier in the year and fingers crossed that 2009 is a vast improvement on 2008 for you Adam.

I think i'll keep doin what i do until my eyes can't take looking at endless hours of ebay ,sales lists webpages etc etc.. Some lucky punter bagged a mint CLARA HARDY for just over $120 last night while i went out Was gonna set my sniper but my conscience got the better of me ,well it would'nt have been fair to sell it for double ,would it Any way i think we can put this to rest now seen as its a sales thread and this is slightly off topic. ONLY 6 SLEEPS TO GO...........
Blake H Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 We all might have a chance to get some bargains over the next few weeks then Nev and there might be some Aussie 45s on your return? Good trip BH
