( Have to say in defence of other promoters, the Fed alldayer in Gateshead has been planned for well over a year, I was booked at least 12 months ago)

It's a bit nuts putting events on within a few miles of each other when long term nights are already planned, let's just hope the effects are not too negative on all the happening ! some kind of system has to be set up in the future before it all goes pear shaped !!

I would like to see niters starting later...In the past it was 11pm/12 midnight...Then the likes of Greatstone and many others could be an ideal place for the night owl brigade to meet up....There will be a good little crowd at the Greatstone who will be over at Sherridans later..... ....Looking forward to the weekend

Niters are starting increasingly early - anyone hazzard a guess as to why this is ??

Goin to a niter in the daylight and coming out to daylight would be a very strange experience - 100 club opening time is the best so we can squeeze another drink from the spanish bar on Tottenham Court Road eh Steve

Cant speak for other promoters,but sheridans opens at 10pm because of the amount of long distance travellers we have,especialy those who come by train and thats why i always let it run on in the morning,so they dont have to hang about for trains etc.Record dealers are always eager to set up as early as poss as well.

I expect that is to cater for the people who don't want to stay all night, get there at 8 and leave at 2-3 happens quite often it seems to me

When a niter was at midnight then it was half the fun to wait outside with all you're mates...Then run inside and straight onto the dancefloor..The first dj was really pleased to open up the night with everyone outside listening to the pounding beat and the anticipation was stepped up..Now the first dj on is dreading it,the graveyard shift...Times change and so do peoples habits...I don't want to walk into niters in bright daylight...I love the warm up do's before the all niter..Lets hope they continue...Come on the weekend....

Bank Holidays aren't the same without the Ritz in my opinion. Ever noticed how people lose out without a massive quality niter? The Ritz usually brought over 500 of us together every Bank Holiday with a smattering of the best rare soul DJ's throughout the year. Top atmosphere, music for everyone, loads of happy people. The only niter I never left before 7 or 8 as it used to be.

I hate bank holidays now.

I think the magic of the Ritz was that a lot of people only got to go to a few all niters a year and there was always a bigg buzz in the lead up to it...Lots of soulies coming from all over the country..I really miss that place,great memories...First all niter i met Mr Bolton at, i think he was a virgin then The Ritz rarest of the rare was one of the great moments for many and took them on the road to salvation and away from the top 500 ...Good post Matt...
