Ian Dewhirst Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 I got asked to pull out a few Xmas songs for a Starpoint Radio Xmas show which is coming up, so I thought I'd dig out a few Northern things and I'm struggling already. The only one I could find was this...... Artie Fullilove "Santa Claus Please Listen To Me" Marlu 1001 https://www.zshare.net/audio/523814705ea9a338/ The best bit on the track is when he sings "Santa Claus please listen to me, please don't bring me a gun" LOL..... Any others out there? Ian D

Jim Elliott Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 The wife bought me a 'xmas with Motown' cd about 10 years ago, a bit cheesy but it does warm the cockles when the trees up. 'Little bright star', diana ross and the supremes is nice for a bit of novelty value. This is in no way an endorsement of diana ross ! I'll get me sleigh Jim

Guest Richard Bergman Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Lou Rawls " christmas will really be christmas" from his "Ho Ho" album is very good. I think it appeared on one those french "smoocher"compilations from the late 90's aswell. Here's a you tube clip as I don't have capabilites to do soundfiles. https://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=G0KI9NiMSaY
Guest SteveA Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Ace had a CD out in 2006 called "Rhythm & Blues Christmas". Mixture of blues, ballads & doo-wop; best tracks are a couple of doo-wop dancers 'Santa Claus Baby' & 'Santa Claus Boogie' by The Voices. Not an essential purchase but would add to the festive spirit.
