Kris Holmes Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Has this been bootlegged or did I get incredibly lucky digging through the dollar bin this morning?

Kris Holmes Posted December 7, 2008 Author Posted December 7, 2008 Cool, I like how it's a real obvious steal from "Open Up The Door To Your Heart". Probably find of the year for me.
Cover-up Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Cool, I like how it's a real obvious steal from "Open Up The Door To Your Heart". Probably find of the year for me. I would have thought that would be among finds of the year for anyone! Nobody else that bothered about picking up £1000 records for a buck? I get the impression bargain hunting isn't really that big a deal on the soul scene. I always feel like it's "I paid £300 for this", "oh really, well I swapped a small car for this" etc etc. Maybe it's just that the majority of the scene is in the UK and you don't really tend to find too many random US 45s in charity shops, markets etc. DISCUSS!!!

Basically it's because over my many years of observations the whole UK soul collectors scene is kind of like a wang measuring contest where people aren't just satisfied with having a box of 45s that are worth an arm & leg, they also have to floss that they gave their 2nd born boy child to manship/moerer etc. Oh yeah, probably the charity shop thing too... It's all gouda though.
