Alan Pollard Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Hi, Does anyone know if The Ronettes version of "You baby" was ever released as a single ? I'm aware it came out on an album or CD. I have checked Dave Rimmers excellent discographies on Soulful Kinda Music but I can't see it on there. This is the same tune as Len Barry and Jackie Trent recorded great versions of. If you haven't heard The Ronettes version check this out. https://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=_0wFm9DPs8U Regards, Alan

John Benson Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Alan, I'm not aware of it being on a 45 and according to someone who posted this on YouTube: This was suppose to be a single, thats why they are doing it on "Hullabaloo".It was NEVER released as a single, just an LP cut on "The Fabulous Ronettes". Maybe it didn't get a release as a single then?

Hi John, Thanks for that, in all honesty I never read the notes as there is some right idiots on there, I was had an argument with a guy on there who was adamant that The Four Tops "Ask the lonely" and "Where did you go" were recent discoveries and had never been out on singles. Looks like I'm after the Fabulous Ronettes then Thanks again, Regards, Alan

Guest Simon Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Does anyone know if The Ronettes version of "You baby" was ever released as a single ? Yes, it's on the flip of 'Is this what i get for loving you'. I have a lovely yellow London demo, unfortunately without a centre though. Great track, think there's a more Northern version by the Soul Notes also? Simon
