Sharlow45 Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Hi everybody, How do you tell a real copy vs. a bootlegg for The Magnetics - When I'm With My Baby - Sable. Are there deadwax inscription differnces between the two. I've read people talk about a bevelled edge on the boot, but I don't know what that means. Scott

Sharlow45 Posted December 4, 2008 Author Posted December 4, 2008 hi, im sure the original has a moulded over label nige I hate to sound ignorant, but how does a moulded over label look different from a non-moulded over label. Scott
Bob Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 hi, im sure the original has a moulded over label nige The original does have a moulded over label and (acording to JM's bootleg guide) 101 tm-1931 in the run out. I have to quote JM as I don't have an original
vaultofsouler Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 (edited) Hi everybody, How do you tell a real copy vs. a bootlegg for The Magnetics - When I'm With My Baby - Sable. Are there deadwax inscription differnces between the two. I've read people talk about a bevelled edge on the boot, but I don't know what that means. Scott A bevelled edge is basically a "rim" around the outside edge.... distinctive when felt and also, usually, when you view the record by looking "across" the vinyl and looking the left and right edges of this flattish/across view.... hi, im sure the original has a moulded over label nige Manny's 3rd edition boot guide states.... Bootleg is made in 80's style vinyl with bevelled edge, label is high quality paper with slight sheen. Original is heavy vinyl moulded overl abel, run out says 101 tm- 1931. Bob beat me to it with JM quote Edited December 4, 2008 by vaultofsouler
Sharlow45 Posted December 4, 2008 Author Posted December 4, 2008 The original does have a moulded over label and (acording to JM's bootleg guide) 101 tm-1931 in the run out. I have to quote JM as I don't have an original If the original has 101 tm-1931 in the runout and the boot doesn't, then that will be an easy way to distinguish the original. Thanks for the help!
