Guest sadsam Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 One's a good soul record and one's a pile of dog crap
Prophonics 2029 Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Its almost the same sort of thing money-girl-similar backing well spotted wonder if the Shrine is a copy cat version. I have a record that Eddie wrote the A side to but the B side is called This Time and is the same layout as the Ray Pollard but Lada Edmund Jr singing. Lada Edmunds Jr what's all this about sounds like a cross dressing second generation cabaret act from from the tripe stall on Wandsworth market

For example, the soul generation's biggest hit was a totally different record called "million dollars" talking about how if the guy had a million dollars he would spend it all on his girl. musically the record is not the same.
Prophonics 2029 Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 (edited) I disagree with you Bob I think they are quiet similar sounding records the way the drums and percussion are laid out and the way the vocals changes key, but I don't know the Soul Generations track?. A bit like what came first I Watched You Slowly Slip Away Guyton or Courtney Edited November 26, 2008 by Prophonics 2029

boba Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 soul generations track is a slow 70s ballad. as a side note, if I had a million dollar bill I would spend it all on 45s
Corbett80 Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 (edited) One is like the rare soul equivalent of the Cistine Chapel, the other is like Tracey Emin's shat-in bed. Edited November 26, 2008 by mulf

Prophonics 2029 Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 (edited) One is like the rare soul equivalent of the Cistine Chapel, the other is like Tracey Emin's shat-in bed. The Sistine ain't for sale or ever will be and Emin's bed is brown bread but it woz worth a lot of money 200 K or more six figures is quoted. Oddly enough Michelangelo was paid 3200 ducet's for his painting and a ducet is about 100. Edited November 27, 2008 by Prophonics 2029
Guest Bogue Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Anyone know the story behind the 'Dedicated to' bit on the artist credits ? Have often wondered whilst peering at the label. Presume the writer/singer may have pased on before the release ?

Prophonics 2029 Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 (edited) Is this the same echoes as EJ & The...... ? (Put a smile on your face, Treat me right) Doubt it ones Baltimore and the other Detroit. Edited November 27, 2008 by Prophonics 2029
boba Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Doubt it ones Baltimore and the other Detroit. it's not, the echoes / "and the echos" are called that because they were tommy vann's backing group -- "Tommy vann and the echoes". no connection to the detroit group.
