Guest Nik Mak Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Hi again whilst I'm in the mood to show my ingnorance to the whole world I was wondering if there were styrene originals of The Salvadors 'Stick by me baby'? I know the Wise World vinyls are green but I was wondering if it came out on any other type of press ie: West coast/east coast etc.... I have two copies one is the original green vinyl but the other is a styrene blue one that looks really spot on. I've seen the boot copies and this blue one looks nothing like it, it also has the 'dimples' in the runout grooves between the matrix numbers. Thinking of selling the Blue one but don't want to sell a boot with out knowing for sure.....
Quinvy Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 It's a boot mate, sorry. both light blue and dark blue labels.

I can only dream of such a luxury Yep that's true you could have knocked me down with a feather when I heard how much the original goes for now! I was really lucky to get mine way back in the day at Yate. Being the promoter I got to pick n choose a lot of great records before anyone else got a look in!LOL! I'm pretty sure I paid @ £100 for it! Happy days eh? atb.

Guest Nik Mak Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Isn't there also a green vinyl boot? Seem to remember a green boot from back in the day. Anyone? Looked in the boots guide no mention of a green one. So can't confirm or deny.
SteveM Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 (edited) Isn't there also a green vinyl boot? Seem to remember a green boot from back in the day. Anyone? There is Dave. Details in JM's guide. (3rd edition bottom of page 39) This counterfeit has PB in the dead wax. Original is flat with little or no ridge. run out reads 62771 in dead wax and two small "dimples" which are actually the matrix stam they are small so look carefully. Dave Moore Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 I thought so. Ah the dreaded 'PB'. Bet there's a few green label owners scuttering for a lightbulb as we speak!
