Northern Soul Uk Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Hi fellas Went to a Record fair today and bought this. I already have it on UK President, but thought this was really nice demo and well worth purchasing at the price it was up at. The guy also had a 'Herb Ward - Honest to goodness' excellent condition demo on US RCA that he wanted offers over £200, couldn't afford it unfortunately but I'll bet it's worth a lot more. Any ideas on the price of both please. Thank you
Guest Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 i love this record - plus i have a thing about Demo's - i want it (aint got no bloody money - but it dont stop me wanting it)

Northern Soul Uk Posted November 23, 2008 Author Posted November 23, 2008 Also I love the way that the exact date of release is included beneath the Logo 'September 12th 1963' Wow! what a day that was, priceless.

Hey! £3 for the album in mint condition with a track like this included, can't go wrong can yer? Eleven quid very well spent Steve. Some LP's are just a great bargain. I bought Four Seasons New Gold Hits for 3 quid off gemm, which contains the brilliant I'm Gonna Change, plus a couple of bonus tracks. Love the Duettes too mate. Best, Dave.

I know when I saw this for 3 quid, I got the unmistakable little twinge that you get when you spot a bargain, you know, the butterflies in stomach thing and light headeness?. What an amazing feeling that is. Can't understand why some folks won't entertain albums, why not? many a top track has been discovered as an album only track, take 'The Spinners - What more can a boy ask for' for instance, what a tune! and believe me it looks well on the turntable.

Bought the Mary Saxton Sad Eyes recently, not cheap at 50 quid, but it contains the Classic ''Take My Heart'' and ''Losing Control'' which if you can find on singles are £1.5-2K ish, so a mega bargain LP imo. The Spinners an absolutely great track Steve
Guest john s Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Also I love the way that the exact date of release is included beneath the Logo 'September 12th 1963' Wow! what a day that was, priceless. Isn't that the date the label was founded? That 45 is from 1965, surely?
Northern Soul Uk Posted November 23, 2008 Author Posted November 23, 2008 Isn't that the date the label was founded? That 45 is from 1965, surely?Oh! not sure then, is the date on the normal copy? not checked.
vaultofsouler Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Oh! not sure then, is the date on the normal copy? not checked. Dates are on Mar-V-Lus issues also Steve.... One-derful also have date founded on....
Prophonics 2029 Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 I think the date is something too do with the record label and not individual singles. Nice atomic bomb blue and orange.
bri pinch Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 (edited) Oh! not sure then, is the date on the normal copy? not checked. THINK ITS ON ALL THE MARVLUS, MPAC, ONEDERFUL LABLES. STILL LOOKS NICE THO' BRI PINCH Edited November 23, 2008 by bri pinch
Soulsider Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 Isn't that the date the label was founded? That 45 is from 1965, surely? Correct. Get yourself a copy of Johnny Sayles " Dont Turn Your Back On Me" on the same label with same date/year on. Dirty, filthy, stomping Northern Soul. Should be able to pick a cheapie up off the bay for around £15/20. Brilliant
