Just watched Georgie Fame singing a very nice soulful tune "Wasting My Time" filmed in 1969... Does anyone know who sung the original version?

I saw some of this the other night. Quite a good show, nice Hammond sounds & Zoot Money on backing vocals unsure.gif

When I was a kid I lived back to back with Clive Powell ( Georgie Fame )

for you silver spooners from down south back to back means Clive lived in

Cotton St and we lived in Corn St Leigh Lancs, Cotton St was a Street like Corn St,

of Terrace houses with outside bogs Clives back gate was opp ours his mam

Sally was my Grandmas Sara,s mate.In the mid 70,s I lived round the corner from

Pete Shelley of the Buzzcocks his owd lady worked with Joan my missus.

Anyone else lived near famous celebs ?

The Peddlers (a uk 60's trio) did a version of wasting my time in 1969, not certain if they were the first to record it though.

It was a nice song I'm not sure if he was singing an original, I was pleasantly surprised how soulful Mr.Fame sounded especially all those years ago (when I was just a youngster & hooked on Elvis ranting_1.gif )

I didn't see the program but would hazard a guess that it could have been a version of James Phelps-Just waisting my time- on one of the Chess Labels
