I am afraid reading this again it seems, like most of the thread starters threads, its more about him, and how clever he is than any real tangible issue. Everyone knows currently, thanks to on here mainly, the crap that seems to be going on about rival soul nights, although the why is another issue, unless you are going to be specific then there is no point on this other than my assumption above.

I dont know anyone involved in this so have no real axe to grind, your opening statements about mental health and comparisons to this situation are not only irrelevant they are indefensible and in my opinion exactly the kind of tabloid statement made too frequently about mental health that is quite frankly abhorrent. The fact you have actually worked in the field makes your actions really quite horrendous, I am only thankful you appear to have no current influence on any such service

And before you come on with some defence of yourself, consider how relevant the use of the word crazy is in the context of mental health, this whole thing is totally inappropriate.

Exactly what I thought....only put over much more elequently than I could.

As Jock says, the fact that you have held those posts makes that opening statement so galling !

If you had just said something like 'Are these people Nuts' I doubt anybody would have even commented. Yes at bare bones that statement is probably not much different. But to so in depth liken these actions to something someone with a mental health problem would do was taking it just too far IMO.

My Missus has a BSC in Health & Social Care. is a qualified RGN. is a qualified RMN and currently teaches 2 courses on Pre reg mental Health with the O.U. and is a specialist nurse/network lead nurse for West Derbyshire Continuing Care.

Now when she tells Me i'm mental I can't argue with her

Now having said that things like this, maybe not as extreme, happen all the time and I would think those involved shouldn't worry about it too much they know they have a good regular night going and a chat with the committe themselves should sort it.

But can I ask a couple of questions - and perhaps a couple of solutions...

Having been in the same situation a couple of times and not had the 'luxury' of a public forum to vent my spleen at the time.....this is what I can offer as advice.

1) Do you know who did this? A far more effective method of dealing with this is to have 'a chat' with 'matey' on the QT rather than whipping us all up into a frenzy - I'm getting whipped up and I don't even know WTF it's all about.... We can't answer your question - you have to go to the source and ask them...we can only speculate but not originate

2) Find out why - and if it was done for malicious effect. If this person is reasonable when talking face to face, then sometimes the situation can be turned around.....in both cases with me it was. I just shamed them and said if anyone knew what they'd done, they'd be sent to work in a piltchard filleting factory. To be fair, the club owners should ring up the original party and confirm that they no longer want to use the hall and not take someone else's word for it.

3) To assess this person's frame of mind - you sound like you're very very experienced and would know better than many - people do strange things when they have problems at home/ work etc. This person might need TLC and sympathy rather than burning at the stake.

4) I'm going to put some quiet waltzes on and you're all going to make badges with owls on them....

I was, until just recently retiring a Governor of the Lincolnshire Partnership Foundation Trust (the part of the NHS in Lincolnshire that is resposible for the care of people within the County who have a diagnosed mental health contition).

Also an Associate Hospital Manager, one of a group of people who travel the County and sit on trbunals and reviews to check that a persons' mental health section is correct and within the policies of the NHS and laws of the Country.

I have also worked with many individuals with a mental health condition but a recent matter has totally perplexed me and I hope someone can shed some light on this:

After receiving a phone call from a friend asking had I read what Graham Weaver and Mick Coops were saying about me on SS, I said no but I would read soul source when I get in from a 12 hour shift at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

What can I say Coops or should I say Woops and Rat Tac Got it wrong again I assure you both and who ever believes what you say I personally do not want or wish to get into your slanging dispute regarding Kingsway Hall.

• I have not approached any one regarding running a soul venue at Carls or instigated that Kingsway Hall was finishing.
  
• Has Carl told anyone that hes finishing? I dont know and dont care
  
• But for me to run another venue I do not have the time or the energy to run another one thank you very much.
  
• Coops is it your soul intention to ruin venues that you are not welcome at, and how many more venues don't allow you in like Forest Town is this why you target me?
  
• Graham if some one as told you to shout and fire at the innocent PEOPLE: like you did once before remember shame on you .
  
• Ric tic Forest Town Welfare is still on every bank holiday and guess what before you ask Coops I do it for the money yes for the Kids at Forest Town.
