Just had a look through the new JM guide and find that my copy (green & black) is a boot. Seems the real one should be blue & white.

Thing is I bought this from a very reputable dealer about six or seven years ago. He's based in the States and I was buying a lot from him at that time. Never had anything but good service before. Is it too late to do anything about this?

Any thoughts?

Steve

Probably best just write it off - least it wasn't too expensive, what did you pay, 30 quid or so?

Something like that........Could've been worse.

The orig is blue and white and i've been asking 20 quid for the demo. If i were you with the boot i would ask your seller for a credit even if its 6 years since he passed off a boot to you. He might not have been aware of that. All dealers can make a mistake. You could threaten him with making it known that "YOU SELL BOOTS AS ORIGINALS". He won't want that and you can get it sorted. No dealer wants to be known as "rip-off" even if they are unaware, and selling NS is rife with that. Thats because there are so many records out there that get passed as real, but are not. Its nobody's fault, it's just a fact of this scene. I know that if i've sold something as real i will make it up if i learn its not. I know too that the big players like Tim Brown or JM would too.

So do it and tell us all how you make out.

Remember you have the whole of this site and experts behind you.

Thanks for the advice, I'll email him & see what happens. I'm sure it was a mistake as the dealer's been around for years & has a first rate reputation.

Ken thats impossible, you must be thinking of something else - it wasn't booted until 1977 and the delta mark proves this, 103250
