I think "Northern" should be in parenthesis too!!

Reminds me of Blow Monkeys. Surely the modern scene has better records to go at.

You really are in danger of losing your reputation as that grumpy man from the record bar with comments like that Rod! :shades:

I think the "Modern" scene (the "new modern" scene rather than the "old modern" scene, but also the "old modern scene" to be honest) has millions of records better than that, and Jazzanova, who I would suspect would not feature in many peoples definition of soul etc have many better records themselves, which was really Mark Randles point I think that sailed over many peoples heads in the Rapheal Sadiq thread.

However to be fair Rod I think "Northern" people of a certain "persuasion" like records like this, which I assume is Andys point.

Grumpy!!!!?????

I can assure you that under the tutelage of my present partner I am now completely re-modelled and ever-ready with a laugh, a joke and a song.

This track is still bobbins Radio 2 fodder and Im persuaded that those Northern fans of a certain persuasion who may like this probably couldn't differentiate between a Northern 45 and an aubergine.

Spot on - there are far better records IMHO by Jazzanova (both as artists & mixers) - they do not have that "certain sound" which as you say people of a certain "persuasion" may enjoy.

I am only bringing the tune to peoples attention - there like or dislike of it is up to them.

Mindless toe-tapping and ideal for background music.

It's better than Duffy  There. That should add another 3 pages to this thread. Actually, I just bought the download for the Jazzanova song from iTunes. I would buy it on 45, but probably wouldn't buy the album having heard only short samples. I probably wouldn't play it at any of my DJ gigs though, but then I don't play a lot of records with strings in them.
