Hi,

has somebody please a realistic current value for Dave Charles - Ain't gonna cry no more on Donnie? I somehow have the feeling it goes for about 600 IF it turns up, am I right?

TIA

Benji

You´re not far off Benji. Here´s 4 from ebay:

$1451 - 2004/07/06

$1258 - 2007/05/09

$913 - 2006/03/30

$876 - 2006/01/05

How much is the pound to the dollar now? Not Iceland bad yet huh?

USED TO TURN UP YEARS AGO, QUITE REGULAR, SADLY EVEN IN THE HEADY DAYS OF THE INTERNET WHERE MOST THINGS APPEAR TO BE TURNING UP WITH ALARMING REGULARITY, THIS ONE HAS'NT.............YET. THINK 600 QUID IS A STEAL CONSIDERING WHAT THE LIKES OF SANDY SHELDON, VELVET SATINS AND CO ARE SELLIN FOR THESE DAYS.

BRI PINCH,

SUNDAY CHILLOUT, 14TH DECEMBER, HORSE AND GROOM PUB, EAST LAITH GATE, DONCASTER.

thanks for the replies!

I'm offered a copy at 750 which I thought was just a tad above current value, seems like I was right. Now all I need is to raise the cash

Didn´t you you just sell records to buy x-mas presents to the little `un? Ah well, dads need pressies too!

well I tried to sell a few bits but with only one record sold and one other on hold (and no reply to my PM yet) it seems that my daughter won't even get the ponytail of the rocking horse she wants for christmas sad.gif

Only joking, been after Dave Charles for a while w/out really hard searching for it but mentioned it in an email. lo and behold a mate offered me a copy...

A fella I know in Ohio found 4 (think he said 4) mint copies about 2 or 3 years ago. I had one off him, should have took the lot, as he then went & put the rest on ebay & they made a fair bit more from what I remember.

Great looking label. Infact, give me a minute & I'll stick up a scan.

Just as a matter of interest

Does anyone know the Tillie Wow record on the same label?

Hi John,

No, is it any good? Would that by any chance be number D-703 on the label?

I know the Gladiators.

The Gladiators are a pseudonym for Mickey and the Clean Cuts, a white band that played the music on the Dave Charles 45. M&CC also have a 45 on their own name. Everyone involved with the Donnie recordings were from Lorain, Ohio. Same city as the (7) Nombres were from.

Hi Ady

Yes it is D-703

I'm Wanna Tell You A Thing or Two/The Sway

Slight correction on previous information....both sides uptempo...hadn't played the record in years..maybe I'm older and it just sounds faster :P
