It's a million times better than 90% of the stuff played at the moment, and stuff that goes for a hell of a lot more. Take for example the Hytones - You don't even know my name - ABSOLUTE F*CKIN SHITE no.gif

link

Is that because you have the Little Annie and you don't have the Hytones??? Would the Hytones be shit if you had one?

Two totally different styles, one for the Northern scene the other isn't :):)

Hi Pete - I've got a Lennie Hibbert LP called "Creation" On Studio One. The vinyl is so thick it could be used as a drain cover in the street.

Its got "Village Soul" on it as well as a track called "Lights" which is a stonking vibe laden northern soul instrumental. Do you know this track?

The LP has apparantly been reissued a while ago acording to a jazz collector in Bristol, and its a fantastic mix of reggae tunes, easy soul vibes and latin inspired style.

I think Village Soul was put onto a compilation CD a few years ago (100% DYNAMITE??) and I've heard it used as backing music on TV programmes but have never met anyone else who has the LP.

Anyone else know of a reissue on this LP? Original apparantly circa £200.

Was any of this LP on 45?

Regards,

Ian

Great venue and very friendly crowd - see you there!

"Check Yourself" The Italian Asphalt & Pavement Company - Colossus

"You Got To Have Money" The Exits - Gemini

"Ain't Gonna Run" The Royal Esquires - Prix

"Never Coming Back" Steeplechase - Polydor

The cheapest buy here was Gloria Scott for $4 on a 45 - from NYC In November - you can still turn up great tunes even near 3rd Avenue!

Views on this set of fairly readily available cheapies?

Thanks for looking,

Regards,

Ian Williams
