Chalky Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 (edited) It's a million times better than 90% of the stuff played at the moment, and stuff that goes for a hell of a lot more. Take for example the Hytones - You don't even know my name - ABSOLUTE F*CKIN SHITE link Is that because you have the Little Annie and you don't have the Hytones??? Would the Hytones be shit if you had one? Two totally different styles, one for the Northern scene the other isn't Edited April 29, 2005 by chalky

Ian Williams Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 Is anyone familiar with Village Soul by Lennie Hibbert, it's a superb mellow vibe-laden soul instrumental that I remember speeding up and covering up a few years ago not realising it was well known Hi Pete - I've got a Lennie Hibbert LP called "Creation" On Studio One. The vinyl is so thick it could be used as a drain cover in the street. Its got "Village Soul" on it as well as a track called "Lights" which is a stonking vibe laden northern soul instrumental. Do you know this track? The LP has apparantly been reissued a while ago acording to a jazz collector in Bristol, and its a fantastic mix of reggae tunes, easy soul vibes and latin inspired style. I think Village Soul was put onto a compilation CD a few years ago (100% DYNAMITE??) and I've heard it used as backing music on TV programmes but have never met anyone else who has the LP. Anyone else know of a reissue on this LP? Original apparantly circa £200. Was any of this LP on 45? Regards, Ian
