Guest uroffal Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 As I'm bored at work (and logged in instead of lurking like I usually am) I thought it might interesting, in light of the forthcoming Stafford Reunion and the recent thread regarding an event playing records with a value of under 50 pounds only (playlists anyone?), to remember some of the many Stafford spins that, for one reason or another, have a CURRENT value of less than 50 quid. Three that spring immediately to mind: The Righteous Brothers - It's Up To You (LP track only: Souled Out Verve). Anyone remember what this was c/u as? Can be bought for less that a tenner on a good day! The Citations - (To Win The Race) Keep The Faith (Ballad) Old Keb spin I think? 20 -25. The Ebonies - You Got What I Want Pat Brady's Chandlers c/u (?) - dropped when John Anderson found box loads of 'em if memory serves me correctly. 20 quid usually. So come on all you bored office workers let's have a few more ...
Guest in town Mikey Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 P W Canon - Beating of my lonely heart £30 (seems to have been £30 for ever) Tommy Rodgers - Tell it to the wind £20 Miller Sisters - Your love is guaranteed £10-£15
Guest uroffal Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 Here's another couple: Sam Bowie - Think Of The Times We Had Together (Wingate) A fiver in the '80s and not much more now! (Actually remember seeing one of these on Ebay at 3 quid and it not selling recently!) Out Of Sights - My Woman's Love (Saru) 30 - 40

Play this out frequently and seems to be going down well at last. Bought a copy for a friend for $8 couple of weeks ago. It was Korean and on red vinyl Citations was Kebs old Magnificent Men cover up. Superb record. Played this at Sheridans few weeks ago and a couple of Guys came up and asked what it was, one even went into the record bar and bought a copy.

Citations is also great as is The Ebonies in my opinion. Couple of other cheap Stafford spins that have just sprung to mind: Fabulous Four - If I Knew (Saintmo) £20 - £30 Creations - Footsteps (Zodiac) £40 (oh and I've Got To Find Her on Globe)
