Well, I'm actually in the process of piecing something together - it's been an ongong project for a number of years now and I've got a number of chapters together but reality/everyday life/financing my lifestyle keeps getting in the way LOL!

For instance I was just about to roll my sleeves up and get seriously cracking when a Sugarbabes production project, Soul Intention records and a number of compilation albums suddenly popped up. But that's what I like about Soul Source - it leads me down avenues which I was in danger of forgetting about. At the moment, it's panning out like this:-

It's a long tractectory but that's kind of got it down in a simplistic form. Doubtless there'll be thousands of other things to add once I actually start writing in earnest. That's the hard bit by the way!

That's why Soul Source is good. I've pieced together a nice chunk of the L.A. story and quite a few record-collecting stories from writing some Soul Source threads. So all positive.

6 pages a day for three months should do it.......

Book should be ready for late next year touch wood, if I survive that long LOL......

I'm always surprised at the recollections on here. I can barely remember anything from the late 70s, early 80s, even records played, people i met (except close friends) only places and vagues dates etc...

That's why Soul Source is good. I've pieced together a nice chunk of the L.A. story and quite a few record-collecting stories from writing some Soul Source threads. So all positive.

6 pages a day for three months should do it.......

I'm always envious of people who can remember where they were when and who was there etc...

I'm always surprised at the recollections on here. I can barely remember anything from the late 70s, early 80s, even records played, people i met (except close friends) only places and vagues dates etc...

Crap long term memory. Wish i'd kept a diary.

Same here Matt, to the point of it's now getting a tad embarrassing. Amount of people saying can you remember when we did this, went there, did that and I have little recollection of it - not a good thing.

Mexborough Soultown allnighters an example I can't remember a great deal about them yet I went to all the nighters.

It's a long tractectory but that's kind of got it down in a simplistic form. Doubtless there'll be thousands of other things to add once I actually start writing in earnest. That's the hard bit by the way!

That's why Soul Source is good. I've pieced together a nice chunk of the L.A. story and quite a few record-collecting stories from writing some Soul Source threads. So all positive.

6 pages a day for three months should do it.......

Book should be ready for late next year touch wood, if I survive that long LOL......

Well, I'm actually in the process of piecing something together - it's been an ongong project for a number of years now and I've got a number of chapters together but reality/everyday life/financing my lifestyle keeps getting in the way LOL!

For instance I was just about to roll my sleeves up and get seriously cracking when a Sugarbabes production project, Soul Intention records and a number of compilation albums suddenly popped up. But that's what I like about Soul Source - it leads me down avenues which I was in danger of forgetting about. At the moment, it's panning out like this:-

I was not having a " go " at you dear chap : as you progress and become an old campaigner on SS , you will soon come to know that I may reply TIC to some posts , hence the NSS / 1966 and the Cleo's Derby repostes .......

In total agreement with the / your highlighted statement : memories from before the Holy Shrine days , are in a lot of cases as you will know , personal to those individuals , and will only be shared if , and when , asked to share them , and we should give respect to those of a certain age and standing in the soul community : if it were not for those people , we would not have a club / rare / modern / northern soul scene .........

The topic was Northern Soul Stalwarts, so the original soul/r&b fans on that point were not highlited. If Pete Stringfellow and his ilk can do some historical recollection, that would also be welcome.

Actually anybody with a tale to tell is always welcome to share it.
