Des Crombie Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Hi can anyone tell me anything about Bronco Records 2055 - Viola Wills - You're out of my mind. I presume it under a tenner as its not in Manship guide? How come it was released on President? Can't seem to find anyone listing this. Just curious as I have one which I bought for a dollar on a trip to the states.

Not a bad little tune either Don

Great tune, was a particularly a big tune at the Pendulum Club in Manchester in the early 70's, a personal favourite of mine, like you I think it would be worth a tenner but demand dictates price and I would imagine there's no demand at the moment but if a DJ got behind playing it again who knows !!! As far it coming out on President, well President was responsible for releasing in the UK the Bronco label. If you looked into the stuff President put out it 's quite remarkable, stuff like The Belles 'Don't pretend', Jimmy Robbins 'Just can't please you', nearly all thr Felice Taylor catalogue etc etc. Regards Alan

Appears to be easier to find on President. I had a search around and couldn't find a Bronco Label 2055 For Sale

I had a search around and couldn't find a Bronco Label 2055 For Sale Hi Roger, Hope you are well mate, I agree with every thing you say which doesn't justify it's exclusion froom John's book, I have never had a Bronco copy, just my President copy which I bought as it was played at The Pendulum. if the President copy books at £30 then I would put the Bronco copy at about £50. Regards Alan

Regards Alan the bronco record is pretty common, probably the most common title on the label.

Can only assume then that the President release has diluted demand over the years, as to my eyes, we don't find many on the Bronco Label this side of the Water. Edited November 9, 2008 by 45cellar

I guess like any record it's dried up now so the past doesn't matter anymore, but this used to be the only bronco title I would ever see, other than the versatiles, which I would see much less frequently.

Can happen though I suppose, One collector searches a lifetime. Another has just passed by a box full. Right Place, Right Time etc.

Worth a tenner of anyones money as prices go for some tunes Don

Don't know how it didn't get listed? The original data search must have missed it. From my experience this is her hardest 45 on the label. Two great sides, I'd expect to sell it for £50 ... it is an elusive double-hitter... I've just added it in for PG 6, so I appreciate it. Any other omissions we'd love to hear from anyone, we've yet to search our data base to Price Guide listing and it not miss something.. Now I add straight to the Price Guide 6 document.. to avoid omissions like this title. thanks again, John Edited November 10, 2008 by john manship
Des Crombie Posted November 13, 2008 Author Posted November 13, 2008 (edited) Thanks everyone. At the end of the day whether it be, easy or rare, $1 or £50 , its a good tune and I'm happy I have one in my collection. Des Edited November 13, 2008 by Dezzie Boy
