I think it was from one the great 'Cellar full of Motown CD's'

A previously unreleased track

OK - here goes. I compiled the Soul Satisfaction series of CDs from 2-5. The Frank Wilson track first appeared incorrectly creditted on the US CD Anthology of Smokey Robinson and the Miracles. I listened really carefully and thought that Smokey was singing with a nasty attack of sinus. So I got in touch with the Motown tape library in the States to dig the tape out and look at the credits on the tape tin....I got an email back saying they couldn't find the Smokey version but would the Frank Wilson version do ohmy.gif The upshot is that this was a demo version of the song that Frank was trying to pitch to Smokey and even got a couple of the Miracles to do backing. There isn't a Smokey version and now you have the full story from me, Jo Wallace, soul sleuth biggrin.gif:lol:

Philippe, that is the incorrect info. The Motown Anthology featured the track but creditted it to Smokey Robinson. The first time it appeared with the correct artist showing as 'Frank Wilson' was on my CD, Soul Satisfaction 3.... smile.gif

I forgot to say that it NEVER EVER came out on vinyl and was only available as a demo tape....I've never seen a promo copy - there could've been studio acetates for reference purposes but I've never seen one of those either - and I've been very 'intimate' with this track for some years biggrin.gif

The single shown is 'Do I Love You (Indeed I do)'.....happy to be of assistance. If you need to know anything else about the Soul Satisfaction series from #2 to #5, I'm your woman
