Guest nubes Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 The list unfortuately just gets longer and longer....i know this may sound cringey...but records like Bari track etc...really did form a comfortable base for my troubled teenage years...records like those represented somewhere i could escape too....and for that alone...i am truly grateful...RIP...Del
Dennisoul Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Real bad news....been playing a few of his tunes in memory of him, they all still sound as fresh as the first time I heard them. Really sad news, along with the other greats that we`ve lost this year. I for one am grateful to have been introduced to his work.
Kev Moore Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Sad news. Condolances to his wife, family and friends. Wished I'd been able to meet him and shake his hand and tell him how much I have used his music to lift me through sad times and rejoice through good times. It's like losing a great and wise friend. I for one will be cracking a can tonight and toasting the maestro. His music will live on in my heart and on my record player. Mr Terry RIP. Kev

jazzyjas Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 Dave told me the bad news earlier today. Gutted just like everyone else on here. I just feel very very lucky and privileged to have been able to talk to him on the phone and do interviews with him. His story in issue #4 of TTB! was a massive personal achievement for me. I was so proud putting that together. We stayed in touch regularly after that and sometimes he would just call and check in with me. Those little phone calls were massive to me and I'll never forget them. It's a shame he never got to put out the project he was working on with Willie Jones and Fred Bridges. I would have loved to hear it. It seriously blows my mind about how massive and impressive his CV really was. The quality was trememndous, too. So humble about it all, too. Gracious for the support and compliments, too. He's like one of the Gods to us and was so nice about it all. Really wonderful guy. I'm sure Rob Moss will agree since he got to know him quite a bit better than me. I'm about to spin some records up in Baltimore at a soul night and you better believe I'll be celebrating his 45s loud and proud! Rest in peace "Lil Funk" Your friend, Jason
