Britmusicsoulfan Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 After looking a bit around online, I wondered about DynoVoice also. Anyone put together a comp of the soul on the label? BritMusicSoulFan

Dave Moore Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 The story of Dynovoice can be found in Issue #5 of There's That Beat! Still a few copies left of this issue at www.theresthatbeat.com
jazzyjas Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 Looks like you'll be needing a Kenny Wells, Prophonics!
Jerry Hipkiss Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 There's a two CD set called "Dynovoice - the label that had to happen" or similar, has all the pop stuff on as well as the ones we love.

Yes I've got that cd, it's pretty good actually, at no time did it ever consider itself anything but a pop label
Guest TONY ROUNCE Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 (edited) This 2CD set was deleted within a matter of weeks of its release. I had Bob Crewe's lawyers on the phone to me threatening to sue because I'd used Crewe's image on the cover and implied that he personally had something to do with the 'presentation' (it was part of a series of 2CD sets that were branded "(so and so) presents the (so and so) story - e.g. "George Goldner Presents The End Story"). It was either pay Crewe a five figure sum for the use of his likeness and name or reissue the CD without any reference to him. I couldn't be arsed to line his pockets further, via the publishing of the songs he wrote that were featured, so I deleted it with only about 500 copies sold. The rest were scrapped. So it's a bit of a rarity, yes. But As Pete and Hippo both say, it does have pretty much all of the important DynoVox, DynoVoice and New Voice 'soul' sides on it. Prophonics 2029 Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 (edited) One of my favourite records this, very very underrated and like you say, brilliant. So many great records that will go down for tape swappers or CD swappers as it happens now adays. Did you sell that CD Pete I didn't know it was deleted or even Ace related. What's that in your advatar Tomorrows People changed from that David Bowie have most of his records like his Mr Grave Digger - London Boys stuff but it stops at Blue Jeans. Did you sell that CD Pete I didn't know it was deleted or even Ace related. What's that in your advatar Tomorrows People I like the DB but prefer his Mr Grave Digger stuff. The avatar - Clockwork Orange. If you really do like early Bowie, that makes you only the second other person (apart from me) I know who actually likes it - Simon Bridger is the other The CD - I wasn't really selling it. I would though. I did a podcast a while back with nothing but beat ballads on and I put the George & Sonny Sanders on it, nobody seemed to notice it!
Prophonics 2029 Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 GNSS I was sure was in refo a few times, I like the label design thought I would try and get them all like this, seen blue ink on plastic not so keen on them. And I really do like his early stuff, I don't have any originals all second issue stuff 10 inchers and the same with the LPs but I have some very hi quality Japanese pressings of some of his LPs.
Britmusicsoulfan Posted November 5, 2008 Author Posted November 5, 2008 Hi All, Just wanted to let everyone know there are new and sealed copies of the Dynovoice 2xCD set Tony Rounce was involved with available on Amazon.com in the marketplace section and likely on the UK site as well. I just picked up a still-sealed, brand-new copy for under $15 US. Cheers, BritMusicSoulFan
