Sunnysoul Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Anyone playing her "Cross My Heart" 45 on Metromedia ? Should be an absolute monster !
ZapatootheTiger Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 She released TOUCH ME BABY b/w CREEPIN' (IN MY DREAMS) in 1974 ~ a Johnny Bristol connection, IIRC - did he write/produce or both TMB? She had a couple of later tunes LET IT FLOW and READ ME RIGHT...

Guest mel brat Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Have you looked here? https://www.soulwalking.co.uk/Tamiko%20Jones.html I vaguely remember a Northern 60's recording called "The Pearl" - but I've totally forgotten the label details for the moment... Also the disco monster "Can't Live Without Your Love" on UK/US Polydor, (big at The Rum-Runner) in late 1979.

Tony Smith Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 This isn't necessarily Tamiko Jones, just cos they've got the same Christian name! I have "Is it a sin" on Checker by the same artist, don't think it's Tamiko Jones though. Who knows? I'm sure Popcorn said it was the same person (He wrote "Is It a Sin")
Soul Shrews Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 HAVE A LOOK HERE https://www.discogs.com/artist/Tamiko+Jones CHRIS I see theres a 45 on Contempo "Woman Of The Ghetto"/ "Let It Flow"..................is that the same 'Woman............" as Marlena Shaw/Doris Duke ? Cheers Paul

Was she there with Chris Hill 'cause remember chatting to him also but not sure if same time ,HELPPP! Yes, I seem to remember her being there also? Wasn't it sometime around that remake they did of "Spellbound"? Here's the 'playtex' 45 for Mr Burton I quite like it myself Not all that long since I picked this copy up, but as it's a m/s promo, I just hope the other side isn't something worth having. Likewise, the flip to "I'm spellbound" on Golden World has a lovely flip called "Am I glad now"
Dave Abbott Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 ...She had enormous and beautifully formed norks. What else do you need to know? "NORKS" !!!??? what else we need to know is when that term came into being...and just when it left...

Guest TONY ROUNCE Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 "NORKS" !!!??? what else we need to know is when that term came into being...and just when it left... ...Been using the term for some years, it's obviously a regional thing then. Would Lils be more acceptable to you, perhaps? Thrups, maybe? Whatever your preference, you can't deny the accuracy of my statement!
