Cheapsiderecords Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 Went to the big record show in Toronto yesterday. I have picked up some incredible 45's over the last 5 years and one dealer in particular always had a nice bag of 45's for me to go through, he has sold me literally 100's of great and rare northern and I have never paid over $5C for any of them. Anyway, he handed over a bag and there was some nice bits and pieces and I handed them over and he said " oh, most of these are listed in Martin Koppells price guide" and proceeded to quote ridiculous prices. I just said "good luck selling them for that" and so closes another chapter in my Northern record hunting. I did manage to pick up Marv Johnson - Come On And Stop - Canadian and Eddie Holland - Im On The Outside Looking In - Canadian Tamla for $1 each!! As an aside, Martin Koppell had a stall at the show and I think just about every one of the 70 dealers there had copies of his guide by the end of the show!!!!!!!!
Ernie Andrews Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 In a previous thread- I mentioned I went to new York recently for the first time and enjoyed myself immensely- However every record shop had Manships guide under the counter. Unless you are the likes of Dave Thorley who venture into absolute unknowns the days of big rarieties going for a song are gone!
Guest in town Mikey Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 Off thread: Ernie I was watching a DVD the other day of an American Football match. On one of the ads for Capital One credit cards they were playing 'Human Beinz -Nobody But Me.' Knocked me sideways harded than a hit by Warren Sapp.
