Dave Moore Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 I played this at this years Hitsville Weekender. Steady stream of folks coming to see what it was. Great forgotten record that should be reactivated. QUALITY.
Dave Abbott Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 'reactivated' Dave? was it ever there to reactivate in the first place? if ya know what i mean?
Dave Moore Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 'reactivated' Dave? was it ever there to reactivate in the first place? if ya know what i mean? Yep, I know what you mean Been pushed a few times but never really had it's day... but it will. Quality will eventually out. Been a couple sold recently so hopefully folks will start playing it again.
Andybellwood Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Yep, I know what you mean Been pushed a few times but never really had it's day... but it will. Quality will eventually out. Marc Forrest Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 gets plays from Steve Cato , Karl Rhodes and others - bit of a mancurian fav , spun it myself @Manifesto recently - brill tune . Well, you could even go as far as saying its a tested 100 CLUB spin as I played it there a couple of years ago Marc
Dylan Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Well, you could even go as far as saying its a tested 100 CLUB spin as I played it there a couple of years ago Marc and I played it in sweden a good few years ago... looks like its going through a bit of a revival. not nearly as good a charles carlson though
Marc Forrest Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 and I played it in sweden a good few years ago... looks like its going through a bit of a revival. not nearly as good a charles carlson though Mr Charles C.C. Carlson, right, top double-sider...have played that at Stonehenge 325 BC. Full floor of course. Marc
Dylan Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Mr Charles C.C. Carlson, right, top double-sider...have played that at Stonehenge 325 BC. Full floor of course. Marc was that on 14th march I tink I was at that night dancing to it
Dave Moore Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 not nearly as good a charles carlson though I played that one at Hamburg in April. Another great record on the label out of Jackie Lee's hometown of Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Marc Forrest Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Another great record on the label out of Jackie Lee's hometown of Lake Charles, Louisiana. owned by one certain Mr Rockin Sidney... Played at the very same event by the way by sheer coincidence the year before. Some Japanese went totally crazy about it.. Marc
Marc Forrest Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 (edited) was that on 14th march I tink I was at that night dancing to it exactly mate, exactly Edited October 28, 2008 by Marc Forrest
Nick Soule Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 not nearly as good a charles carlson though Best gritty production ever! Sounds like your blowing the speakers even when you play quietly. Brian Engel from Minneapolis has been pushing both Joe Walker & Charles 'Mr. CC' Carlson pretty hard for years...I suppose that doesn't affect the European scene that much though.
Mal C Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 (edited) Mr Charles C.C. Carlson, right, top double-sider...have played that at Stonehenge 325 BC. Full floor of course. Marc Ohhh I dont know about that... you would have to have em both really, wouldn' t you. always reminded me of Sammy King - Old standby on mar-a-thon, I just love that kind of sound... Mal.C. Keithw Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 still available DONT WAIT TILL IT GONE DOUBLE THEN ASK ME FOR ONE this is my own copy--dont have another m- superb
Dylan Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 Ohhh I dont know about that... you would have to have em both really, wouldn' t you. had both sold one and I see one of the two popping up for sale a lot more than the other. so its either easier to find or people move it on ? not sure which.

Keithw Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 There's one on ebay at the mo [here] Was Buy it Now for $175 but someone has a bid on it at $125.only vg + copy though
Sebastian Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 (edited) the one craig m is selling vg+ You are right, I thought you were refering to the $125-copy on eBay that was mentioned above which is listed as MINT. Craig has got 2 VG+ copies in stock. His VG+ tends to be what most people consider to be M- in my experience. Edited October 30, 2008 by Sebastian
Dylan Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 also a copy on funk forum as we speak for $150 which seems about right price to me. certainly wouldn't pay anything like 150UK myself. Can't see it doubling from that price either.
Keithw Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 also a copy on funk forum as we speak for $150 which seems about right price to me. certainly wouldn't pay anything like 150UK myself. Can't see it doubling from that price either.JOE WALKER NOW SOLD so get searching guys
kristian Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Well, you could even go as far as saying its a tested 100 CLUB spin as I played it there a couple of years ago Marc I played it at soul inn this saturday as well ...but I doubt you remember that..
Citizen P Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Anyone got a copy of this is my last goodbye on bold they want to part with, cash or trades Cheers Salmon sorted now thanks I suppose this falls into the category of "This is What I would have played if I wasn't too poorly to come to The Junction last Saturday, but I'll save it for January now" then , does it? Tony
Paul-s Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Yep, I know what you mean Been pushed a few times but never really had it's day... but it will. Quality will eventually out. Been a couple sold recently so hopefully folks will start playing it again. totally true.Old soul or nothing play aswell as other places. But, maybe the fact that it hasn't been hammered is great and keeps a brilliant tune safe from harm.!
