Pete S Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 GENE WOODBERRY - IT'S ONLY YOU / I'LL BE GLAD (WHEN MY BABY COMES HOME) - DEL VAL 1003. I've got this record and I just wondered if anyone knows how much I should ask for it because Tim Brown's latest book values it at £40 while John Manships last book values it at £150. A difference of £110! I'd say it must be the first of his del Val singles, both sides are similar, uptempo dancers.

Guest Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 Great record, I found 300 in Dennis West's warehouse in 1978. Sold out @ £3 each in two years..and now it's damn tough to find. Two great sides, and if anyone has a copy for £40 send it to me, I'll give you £50..

And I certainly in all that time, i have never found a copy on buying trips to the USA. Another example of the depth of the Northern Soul scene and the rarity of 45s once they get filed in collections. Two great sides, someone should snap it up off you even in lesser condition..it ain't a 45 you come across very often. Edited October 27, 2008 by john manship

Amazing, when you think you've probably had more copies of Bernie Williams!
Pete S Posted October 27, 2008 Author Posted October 27, 2008 sold, your comission cheques in the post John
Md Records Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 Recently spoke to Joe Stevenson about Gene Woodbury, and his whereabouts, and he said that we should know, as Gene's supposedly been living in England for the last 20 Years!!!! Des Parker
